Manager, Treasury - Thermoformed & Flexible Packaging (TFP)

In September, Sonoco announced it is performing a strategic review of the Thermoforming Flexible Packaging (TFP) business unit. In order to support a newly formed global packaging company with annual revenues exceeding $1 billion, we are seeking a Treasurer to lead the establishment and operation of the treasury function that supports the TFP's financial strategies and risk management.

The Treasurer reports directly to the TFP Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and plays a critical leadership role in managing the company's global financial health.

What you'll be doing:

  • Developing and executing strategies for managing the company's capital structure, ensuring cost-efficient access to debt and equity markets.
  • Managing relationships with banks, rating agencies, and financial institutions to secure favorable financing terms.
  • Overseeing day-to-day treasury operations, including cash management, banking relationships, and treasury systems.
  • Ensuring sufficient liquidity for operational and strategic needs through effective cash flow forecasting and management.
  • Managing financial risks, including interest rate, foreign exchange, and credit risk, through appropriate hedging strategies and policies.
  • Overseeing compliance with internal controls, external regulations, and company policies related to treasury activities.

This position is an onsite position that can be located out of Hartsville, SC or Charlotte, NC

We'd love to hear from you if:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CFA designation strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in corporate treasury with a multi-national company.
  • Deep knowledge of global capital markets, corporate finance, and risk management.
  • Strong leadership and strategic thinking abilities, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working in the manufacturing or packaging industry is a plus.

Compensation:

The annual base salary range for this role is from $119,280 to $134,190, plus an annual target bonus of 7.5% of base salary.
