Director of Life Enrichment Full-Time Worthington, OH The Hartford located in Worthington, OH is an independent living community with a team of health care professionals that is unmatched in the area! We are seeking a Director of Life Enrichment who will share in our vision to advance better living and care for seniors! Qualified candidates for this position offer:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Three to five years working with seniors
- Minimum one-year management experience
- Experience with Alzheimer's and dementia preferred.
- Additional experience required for Mid-market IL communities: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a social service delivery with elderly and/or people with disabilities.
- Activities Certification as required by state compliance.
Essential Functions
- Scheduling and developing life enrichment activities to suit the needs of the residents.
- Responsible for assessing residents for appropriate life enrichment activities for group, independent and one to one.
- Ensures appropriate staffing levels. Manages the recruiting, interviewing, counseling, supervising and termination procedures of all employees and volunteers.
- Making timely submissions of assessments and other required paperwork for MDS.
- Leads activities on scheduled work days.
- Creates and maintains monthly, daily activities calendar. Contribute to and/or write the facility newsletter and other communications.
- Responsible for the day to day operations of the assigned departments within constraints of prescribed budgetary guidelines to include accurate and timely payroll submission, HR, A/P, A/R, and billing procedures.
- Serve as a liaison to community agencies, network with community service providers and seek out new services available to eligible individuals.
- Monitor the ongoing provision of services from community agencies and appropriately document participants' use.
- Develop and maintain a Resource Directory that includes a listing of state and/or local service provider.
- Organize educational events that include subjects relating to health care, agency support, life skills and referral sources. Promotes participation and links eligible participants to events in the sprit of assisting residents to age in place.
- Identifies partners to provide health services and screenings to participants in their home or accessible community setting.
- Assume responsibility for coordinating services for residents on an individual basis through a person-centered, non-clinical assessment, intervention and monitoring process.
- Develop a Volunteer base of internal and external volunteers
