Covia is looking for a dynamic Maintenance 2 person who will have a positive impact on the operations team at its Lugoff, SC location. The Maintenance 2 position is accountable to ensure the safe and productive operation of the plant and must possess aptitude for multiple disciplines and be proficient in the maintenance of equipment associated with all functional areas within the plant.

Compensation: $27.61/hr

The successful candidate will have the following Key Accountabilities:



  • Utilize acetylene torch and arc welding skills to repair and or modify plant equipment.
  • Repair or fabrication of steel components.
  • Repair or replacement of plant piping structures.
  • Repair or enhance efficiencies of industrial machinery and/or heavy equipment.
  • Repair or enhance efficiencies of industrial machinery and/or heavy equipment.
  • Utilize literature/documentation in the repair of industrial machinery.
  • Communicate with operations personnel in a positive manner to minimize downtime and improve efficiencies.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Establish and/or maintain an environment to fulfill customer requirements and plant specifications.
  • Other duties as assigned.



The successful candidate will have the following Minimum Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Possess good mechanical knowledge, welding & fabrication ability, etc.
  • Experience operating forklift and front-end loader.
  • Must have basic knowledge of machinery and equipment.
  • Must be able to lift 50 - 100 pounds.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations, a flexible schedule, and other duties as required.
  • Basic reading and writing skills.
  • Ability to learn basic electrical skills.
  • Ability to learn precision measuring methods.


  • Previous experience in a maintenance role (at least two years).
