Job Description

Nilfisk, Inc. is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Income & Sales Tax Manager to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of income tax and sales/use tax compliance, ensuring accurate and timely filings, and managing audits. This role requires a strong understanding of federal, international, state, and local tax regulations, as well as expertise in indirect tax processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Tax/Other Indirect Tax:

  • Ensure the accurate and timely completion of all sales/use tax returns and filings; manage third-party preparation of these returns.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with sales/use tax authorities; coordinate and resolve all state sales/use tax audits.
  • Maintain the exemption certificate process and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Reconcile all sales/use tax accounts and manage compliance for 1099/1042 requirements, unclaimed property filings, and personal property tax.
  • Monitor state tax nexus and assist with other filings such as business licenses, state registrations, gross receipts filing, franchise taxes, and annual reports.

Income Tax:

  • Co-ordination with our external service provider on matters related to corporate income tax.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent is a plus.
  • Experience in US tax compliance and reporting in a corporate environment, previous consulting or public accounting experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations, with the ability to interpret and apply complex tax concepts.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Vertex and/or SAP ERP systems is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
