Summary of Job Duties:We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist to join our Clinical Outpatient Laboratory team. The ideal candidate will perform proper phlebotomy techniques and ensure accurate specimen accessioning and processing. The Phlebotomist will also ensure all related policies and procedures are followed. They will also provide excellent customer service and collaborate with other members of the healthcare team. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Two (2) years of Phlebotomy experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Superior customer service skills
  • Clear communication skills
  • Ability to show empathy and respect for patients' privacy and autonomy.
  • Excellent patient interaction skills in person and by phone.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently

Additional Information:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use of correct blood collection tubes, ordering correct tests from requisitions.
  • Match identifiers to information on requisition and labels.
  • Obtain blood from patients using proper phlebotomy techniques for clinical or medical testing, transfusions, donation, or research.
  • Resolve specimen and patient problems as they arise.
  • Follows all UAMS Department of Pathology Policies and Procedures for blood collection.
  • Obtains patient specimens at an acceptable rate.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
