General Summary of Position:

The Granite Carrier/Vendor Relations Team is a dynamic group engaged in a wide variety of projects at many levels of the organization. The Manager - Carrier Relations position is an integral part of that environment where practicality, communication and collegiality are necessary components.

Manager - Carrier Relations will act as a point of contact, lead negotiator and strategist for Granite in dealing with and developing relationships with carriers/vendors, including wholesale voice and data partners. This entails carrier/vendor selection, negotiation of contract terms and pricing, onboarding, contract, and relationship management and managing, tracking and reporting vendor performance. The position will be the primary point of contact for resolution of internal and external issues associated with carriers/vendors. The position requires a team player who is results oriented and set ambitious standards for his or her performance and has excellent written and verbal communication, problem solving and relationship building skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Carrier/Vendor Management



  • Act as point of contact with carriers/vendors
  • Initiate new carrier/vendor onboarding process to ensure all Granite departments have the necessary information to interface with carrier/vendor
  • Drive resolution of escalations and issues affecting other departments such as strategic pricing, service delivery, service assurance /network operation center, product management and finance/billing
  • Identify and execute new cost saving initiatives


Contract Management



  • Engage in negotiations and strategic discussions to maximize Granite's partner relationships
  • Monitor, manage and support adherence to contract terms and conditions
  • Successfully collaborate with finance, legal and other internal departments on contract compliance


Process Management/Customer Experience



  • Spearhead reporting on carrier/vendor performance, ensuring provisioning, repair and billing SLAs are met
  • Improve efficiencies by process change through collaboration across departments
  • Serve as an escalation point with carrier/vendor on any service issues


Product Support



  • Assist product team as necessary with implementation/onboarding carriers/vendors
  • Represent Granite at trade shows and networking and other events as necessary


Required Qualifications:



  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a similar role with existing carrier/vendor relationships
  • Prior experience in the telecommunications industry
  • Account management skills
  • Strong negotiations skills
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of contract and carrier/vendor management principals
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills
  • Experience working cross functionally with various groups and departments (internally and externally)
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to thrive in a challenging, fast-paced work environment
  • Self-starter, able to manage multiple projects at the same time


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Product management experience
  • Comprehension of sales skills and methodologies
