The ED Program/Credentialing Manager provides administrative direction for all faculty credentialing and continuing medical education activities within the Department of Emergency Medicine. The ED Program and Credentialing Manager directly manages credentialing activities for Emergency Medicine physicians and advanced practice providers. The ED Program and Credentialing Manager also has responsibility related to chart completion program initiatives for all costs centers within the Department of Emergency Medicine to ensure timely and accurate chart review and submissions to coding company. He/she works alongside the Administrator in the planning and development of policies and procedures relating to Emergency Medicine programs and ensures compliance with all external review agencies.

Job Description

  • This position will have oversight and serve as the primary point of contact for all physician and advanced practice providers (APP) onboarding within the assigned Department.
  • This position will monitor the provider onboarding processes within the physician practice and coordinate efforts of multiple departments including the medical staff office, the legal/contracting department, human resources, payer enrollment/credentialing and IT.
  • The Program and Credentialing Manager will be an engaged and helpful resource to providers before their start date.
  • This position is also responsible for ongoing maintenance of the Department provider database to include current licenses, board certification, medical command, CV, ATLS, malpractice certificates, and other necessary credentialing documents required for site surveys such as DOH and Trauma as well as the Medical Staff Office for clinical privileges.
  • This position will also provide support for continuing medical education (CME) programs as assigned by the Education Division.
  • Position must possess strong communication and organizational skills along with a professional demeanor that is highly customer-focused.

Education/Training/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in education or business or healthcare administration required, or 8 years related experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 3-5 five years of healthcare administration experience, including a minimum of 2 years in provider credentialing preferred.
  • The successful candidate will possess excellent organizational and administrative abilities.
  • He/she must also exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Complete familiarity with computers and database management is required. He/she will be able to handle confidential information and exercise sound judgement with respect to the generally sensitive nature of material related to physicians and APP.
