Introduction to the job

The Algorithms and Physical Modeling Researcher is responsible for the technology activities related to algorithms utilizing machine-learning as well as stochastic and physical modeling methods for electrical and physical defect inspection and metrology with e-beam systems. This position will be working closely with the HW & SW engineering teams as well as the Application teams.

Role and responsibilities
  • Investigate algorithms utilizing physical models and machine learning methods for electrical and physical defect inspection and metrology with e-beam systems.
  • Research, investigate and develop image quality metrics for SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) images obtained from Ebeam (Electron Beam) tools and integrate them into SEM defect inspection and metrology products.
  • Develop accurate and robust metrology algorithms for EBeam tools as well as algorithms for the calibration of the imaging systems.
  • Rich experience in image processing and deep understandings of computer vision algorithms, deep learning tools, tracking, detection and calibration.
  • Solid understanding of physics (e.g., optics, electron-optics, etc.).
  • Ability to understand customer problems, define technical directions, and conduct independent research to provide high quality solutions within time and cost constraints.
  • Strong communicator able to collaborate with HW, SW, and application teams.
  • At least 5 years of C/C++, Python programming experience, familiar with software engineering practices, standard library, Python and related packages.
  • Systematic software prototyping, analysis, design, optimization and testing.
Education and experience

Academic level (Master or PhD) in Information technology, Software, Physics, Mathematics or any Technical area

Experience and Skills

Minimum 5 years of experience in related fields is a plus for candidates, including IC manufacturing, semiconductor process technology, inspection or metrology, or equivalent experience.
Hands-on experience on semiconductor process or equipment is required
Fast learner with strong self-motivation to grow technically; be able to perform job at high standard with minimum supervision, and demonstrated ability to thrive in a high pressure and fast paced environment.

Personal skills
Communication skills: Able to communicate with counterparts efficiently on project work.
Team work: Good team player to drive product development with stakeholders.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently:

$145,125-241,875

Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.

The Company offers employees and their families, medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to participate in the Company's 401k plan. Employees will also receive eight (8) hours of vacation leave every month and (13) paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
