Are you a skilled maintenance professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys creating safe, well-maintained spaces? Join our team as a Facilities Maintenance Technician and play a key role in supporting multiple YMCA facilities, ensuring they remain welcoming and operational for our communities.

As a Facilities Maintenance Technician with the YMCA of the North Shore's Facilities Department, you'll play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing multiple sites. This position requires flexibility, a proactive mindset, and a commitment to excellence. With a YMCA-provided vehicle, you'll travel seamlessly between locations, ensuring all facilities are safe, welcoming, and well-maintained. Additionally, you'll collaborate on local and association-wide projects, lead teams as needed, and help create positive experiences for members, staff, and guests.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Facility Maintenance: Perform routine and on-demand maintenance, including light construction, repairs, and preventative measures. Implement preventative maintenance programs and advise leadership on equipment upgrades.
  • Travel and Support: Provide maintenance services across multiple YMCA locations, traveling as needed with a YMCA-provided vehicle.
  • Collaboration: Train and support maintenance staff while coordinating with leadership to prioritize facility projects.
  • Grounds Management: Maintain landscaping, snow removal, and outdoor spaces to ensure safety and appeal.
  • Safety and Emergency Response: Respond quickly to maintenance emergencies and ensure security systems are operational.
  • Inventory and Inspections: Manage inventory levels, conduct facility inspections, and maintain organized workspaces.
  • Specialized Support: Assist with pool maintenance and participate in special projects to enhance operations.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated on industry trends and pursue training to refine skills.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience in trades such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and preventative maintenance.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills, including typing and managing online work orders.
  • OSHA certification is preferred but not required; we offer certification opportunities.
  • Valid driver's license required and a clean driving record.


Physical Requirements:



  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
  • Must be able to lift, bend, twist, and reach as needed to execute job responsibilities
