Primary Duties: Remove obsolete or damaged pattern and replace with a new pattern. Verify that proper loom set-up is used and loom is producing quality fabric.

Tools Required: Tsudakoma Air Jet Weaving Machines, complete set of hand tools, necessary gauges and specialty tools, Company issued lock out/tag out lock and tag, goggles/safety glasses, dust mask, steel toe shoes, utility knife, cut resistant glove, scissors, reed hook, cloth markers, OSHA approved air nozzle for compressed air, ear plugs, tugger with trailer, pattern truck, brooms and hoist.

Materials Used: Complete pattern, filling yarn packages, machine parts, and lubricants.

Supervision Exercised: None; receives instructions from Supervisor or Weaving Department Manager.

Job Procedures:

  1. Follow all established Plant Safety rules.

  1. Perform style change per W1009 Style Change Procedure.

  1. Write current shift number on cloth while inspecting fabric for defects at the start of the shift.

  1. Remove obsolete or damaged pattern.

  1. Insert new pattern.

  1. Ensure that the loom has the correct pattern and settings.

  1. Verify that the loom has the correct style identification.

  1. Start loom; ensure that the loom is producing quality cloth.

  1. Advise management of parts that need to be ordered to make repairs.

  1. Work on special projects as requested by management.

  1. Advise management of potential problems affecting the overall performance of the Weave Room-parts needed, problem machines, warp issues, quality, etc.

  1. Perform all other duties as directed by management.

Minimum Job Requirements: Must be able to read and write. Must have basic math and computer skills. Must be cleared by Occupational Nurse for vision and color vision.

Competency testing may be required.

Follow all Safety Rules, and comply with the Job Safety & Health Analysis (JSHA). All Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be used as required. Any accident or near miss must be reported immediately.
