Job Summary/Overview

Test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify developmental and production electrical/mechanical components, parts, equipment, and systems by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Follow ALL safety procedures and attendance requirements.
  • Discusses layouts/problems with Department Supervisors, Maintenance Supervisor, Engineer.
  • Troubleshoot, install, repair electrical/electronic equipment to determine cause of malfunction and repair.
  • Troubleshoot, install, repair mechanical equipment to determine cause and repair.
  • Program and write common PLC programming.
  • Adjust, calibrate, aligns, and modifies electrical circuitry/mechanical parts.
  • Dismantle defective machines/equipment and install new or repaired parts.
  • Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.
  • Set up/operate machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures, and tools.
  • Fabricates and/or repairs wooden or metal structures.
  • Lay out, assembles, installs, repairs, and maintains pipe systems such as hydraulic, pneumatic, water, steam, gas.
  • Operates cutting torch/welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
  • Performs all assignments utilizing all prescribed safety practices to very best of their ability
  • Makes all repairs in a neat and timely manner.
  • Always remembers basics of equipment and look at all systems for any other problems.
  • Practices the prescribed lock-out/tag-out procedure (LOTO) on all assignments.
  • Uses proper tools designed for the work at hand.
  • Keeps all tools in good safe working condition.
  • Always leaves jobsite clean and orderly.
  • Returns all company owned tools to proper storage location.

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Pursuing a degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
