Job Summary

The Director of Pantry will shape the future of CRS and Pantry Services at Canteen in the Pacific Division. This role focuses on strategic programming for pantries, micro kitchens, and coffee activations for clients of all sizes. Acting as a thought leader and primary liaison between Pacific Division branches and the broader Canteen team, the Director will oversee product assortment, category management, vendor relationships, and distribution partnerships. They will ensure corporate compliance, drive standardization, and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities CRS & Pantry Strategy Management:
  • Develop and implement product assortment strategies aligned with customer needs and market trends.
  • Design pantry plan-o-grams and merchandising strategies that incorporate storytelling, marketing, and promotions.
  • Contribute to creating a Pantry playbook with SOPs, service levels, equipment, and best practices.
  • Monitor data and customer feedback to optimize offerings and enhance client experiences.
  • Assist with RFP cycles by reviewing contracts and aligning program offerings with customer needs.
Product Category Management:
  • Partner with VP of Channel and Product to execute category review cycles.
  • Assess product performance, analyze data, identify trends, and evaluate competitor offerings.
  • Recommend assortment, pricing, and inventory management strategies.
  • Collaborate with field teams to enhance the customer experience in breakroom spaces.
  • Maximize promotional and vendor allowance opportunities while focusing on consumer satisfaction and data-driven decisions.
Standardization of Product Assortment:
  • Partner with branch leaders and procurement specialists to ensure program standardization.
  • Manage inventory with distributor partners to maintain product availability in Pacific Division warehouses.
  • Collaborate on pricing strategies to balance margin and profitability.
  • Build and maintain strong vendor and supplier relationships.
Technology & Data:
  • Lead initiatives to adopt cutting-edge Pantry and coffee service technologies.
  • Utilize data platforms like OneCup and Intellisights to inform decision-making and SKU rationalization.
  • Support system data cleanup efforts for clarity and accuracy.
Compliance:
  • Collaborate with analysts to achieve Foodbuy compliance goals.
  • Balance customer requests with compliance objectives when making product and equipment decisions.
  • Report compliance results and ensure accountability for goal achievement.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field (MBA preferred).
  • 7-10 years of experience in product management, procurement, or related fields.
  • 5+ years in pantry service or hospitality (preferred).
  • Proven expertise in vendor and category management with strong negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated leader with excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data interpretation and market trends.
  • Proficient in inventory management software and Microsoft Excel.
