Slitter Operator

Printpack's manufacturing plant in Elgin, IL is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of a Slitter Operator for 2nd shift (3pm - 11pm, M-F).

Additional $2.50/hr shift differential for NIGHT Shift only between the hours of 7pm-7am. Any hours worked outside of 7pm-7am will not receive the premium.

Operate Slitter in order to:

• Ensure safety

• Perform to quality, waste, and production standards and

• goals

• Meet or exceed the customers (both internal and external)

• expectations

• Meet the highest of quality standards

• Communicate orally and/or in writing to other departments

• for resolution of mechanical problems, reporting defective

• material, coordination of job preparations, changeovers and

• daily shift information

• Report production accurately and timely through Prism to

• include waste, WIP, time codes, raw materials, etc.

• Ensure your own safety while operating the machine and

• that of those assisting with operations

Manage the duties of an operator including but not limited to:

• Prepare master rolls for slitting

• Place rolls in machine and prepare for splicing

• Properly segregate and label all materials (as appropriate) -

• for work in process, rewinds, trash, and hold)

• Assist in removing rolls from rewind (as necessary)

• Remove and weigh startup rolls/materials at beginning of job

• Perform daily housekeeping duties to keep area clean and

• organized during setup, run and end of shift

• Remove and weigh all waste

• Keep trash waste separated from recycle materials

• Properly store all unused equipment

Minimum Requirements:

• 1 year of experience operating machinery/equipment preferred

• Ability to accurately read a tape measure

• Ability to be self directed and multitask

• Ability to follow directions

• Ability to lead and manage the performance of others

• Timeliness

• Ability to obtain forklift license and operate forklift
