The Town of Brookline is seeking a PT Therapeutic Recreation Program Support Specialist to support our Therapeutic Recreation Division. The Therapeutic Recreation Program Support Specialist assists with implementing recreational programming that is inclusive, adaptive, and appropriate for children, teens, and adults with varying abilities. The primary role of this position will be to support community outings and seasonal programming for teens and adults with varying abilities. Additional tasks/program support may be required as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports in implementing a variety of programs to individuals living with disabilities in Brookline and surrounding communities.
  • Assists the Therapeutic Recreation Specialist and Lead Program Specialists in the management and implementation of additional programs as needed.
  • Serves in a support staff role at programs and special events and helps facilitate communication between the Therapeutic Recreation division and its participants.
  • Assist in managing participant behavioral concerns when necessary.
  • Works approximately 4 to 18 hours weekly or bi-weekly depending on program schedule. Please note, hours for this position are dependent on program staffing needs and may not be consistent each week.
  • Follow all Brookline Recreation and Town rules/laws/policies as required by professional staff.

Qualifications:



  • Experience working with individuals who have disabilities strongly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills required; ability to work cooperatively and communicate well with others, verbally and in writing


Salary: $17.00/hr. Position is for up to five hours per week. Please apply asap. Position is open until filled.
