In this role, the practitioner will assist in the management and implementation of the health care plan for Cardiac Surgical Service as defined by surgical attending staff.

Responsibilities (as approved by the Medical Staff Board):

* Responsible for inpatient care related to pre and postoperative heart surgery patients in the CCU and Telemetry unit as defined by surgical attending.

* Perform and assist with diagnostic and therapeutic bedside procedures

* Assure clear and concise transfer of clinical information between nurses, clinical staff and physicians

* Assist in data collecting of information related to any research trials within the department of Cardiothoracic

* Maintaining communication with other clinical service

* NCCPA certification or National Certification as Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Required

* Minimum 2 years' experience required, preferably in CCU/Cardiac Surgery setting

* Pennsylvania State license for physician assistant or CRNP
