The Office of Strategic Initiatives seeks a Discharge Data Lead to support the Division of Patient Safety and Quality with the Illinois Department of Public Health. This individual will provide expertise on the intake, management, dissemination, governance, and analysis of discharge data for Illinois hospitals and ambulatory surgery treatment centers. Required Experience:
The budgeted salary range for the position is $90,000 to $105,000. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity. Click for a complete list of Employee Benefits. KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE Four years of professional experience with data intake and management using SQL. Skills in SQL include indexing and performance tuning ability to run SQL server complete, differential and transaction log backups. At least three years of professional experience with stored procedures, complex queries, correlated sub-queries, derived tables and Common Table expressions. At least three years of professional experience using healthcare administrative code (e.g., ICD-10CM) and CPT codes. At least three years of experience in managing big data, with hands-on experience in data dissemination. At least three years of experience applying analytical and problem-solving skills to managing confidential data, including adherence to HIPAA and HITECH standards. At least three years of experience using statistical and/or informatics tools, preferably Excel, SAS or R. At least three years of professional experience using advanced methods of matching, linking and aggregating patient records from various data sources. One year of experience working with database development software packages such as ACCESS and Visual FoxPro. Organizational skills demonstrating high attention to detail and the ability to organize multiple priorities. Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient computer skills and advanced knowledge of applicable computer systems, including Microsoft Office programs: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint. Ability to work well independently as well as a part of a team. Ability to work in a dynamic fast-paced environment. APPOINTMENT INFORMATION This is a academic professional position.
