Child Development Center

Job Description

The Child Development Center is seeking a qualified applicant to fill the role of Business Support Specialist I. This position will primarily assist with financial reporting, HR processing, and additional work required for childcare licensing.

Duties include:

  • Place orders and reconcile financial transactions including family tuition payments, state subsidy, grant funds, state food program, etc. Process, monitor, and review transactions in multiple online systems as designated by the university and the state
  • Monitor payroll and employee training and facilitate new hire process, including student workers. May assist the director with scheduling to maintain required child to staff ratio
  • Maintain child enrollment and employee records, including compliance with licensing training regulations. Organize and maintain electronic and paper files so they are orderly and up to date. May generate reports, forms and surveys and compile for review
  • Communicate with families regarding enrollment, billing and other needs. This includes responding to inquiries and emails, following up on business contacts and answering phone(s), greeting and assisting visitors, providing information about the Child Development Center to prospective parents, setting up registration appointments, maintaining the current waiting list and corresponding with applicants on the waiting list
  • Update website and social media for Child Development Center, including family newsletters and other communication
  • Maintain all accounts and records for ready and retrievable access as needed. Assist as needed in audits and/or compliance activities
  • May assist the director, teachers, and aides in preparing materials for classrooms and activities
  • On occasion, may perform substitute or other duties and responsibilities in order to support the mission of the Center
Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $15.00 - $15.50 hourly.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
