Environmental Services Worker

Texas NeuroRehab Center is currently accepting applicants for a EVS Worker. This candidate will be responsible for the performing a variety of environmental services duties to maintain the hospital in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition.

Texas NeuroRehab Center is a specialized treatment facility located ten minutes from downtown Austin on 67 wooded acres. We have served the Austin community for over 60-years and are proud of our history and tenured leadership team.

Today, Texas NeuroRehab Center provides complex medical and brain injury rehab for ages 13 years and older and neurobehavioral residential treatment services for children and adolescents. The capabilities of the facility as a whole allow for integrated and specialized care for children, adolescents and adults facing difficult challenges.

Qualifications

SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English Language

EDUCATION: High school graduation or GED

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Current Driver's License or State issued Id.

EXPERIENCE: 1 to 2 years in a hospital setting preferred

PHYSICAL/GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to sustain physical activity; on feet eight hours per day. Ability to push and pull a vacuum cleaner. Ability to operate high speed machine for bonneting carpet; stripping and scrubbing floors. Frequent kneeling; stooping; bending; squatting, i.e. picking up trash; stripping in corners and edges of floors; cleaning kick plates; cleaning cove bases; cleaning furniture; high and low dusting; cleaning toilets and urinals. Frequent lifting and carrying and lowering between 25 and 40 pounds; minimum lifting requirement is 25 pounds (i.e. removing trash from containers to trash dumpsters). Frequent reaching overhead for high dusting, cleaning, overhead vents, light fixtures, washing windows. Constant use of hands. Ability to read and understand labels on chemical bottles. Ability to read and understand purpose of hazard labels on chemical containers and material safety data sheets. Regular and expected attendance. Flexible when needed in other EVS areas of responsibility. Emotional stability necessary to perform essential functions and deal with changing priorities. Ability to see, speak and hear so as to effectively communicate with staff, patients, and others in order to protect self and others from potentially dangerous situations and to perform essential job functions.
