Position Highlights |
The Borderlands Education Center ADELANTE Title V Project Coordinator will serve as a key liaison for the ADELANTE Fellowship program and related initiatives. This role involves interpreting University policies and Title V US Department of Education grant guidelines to design and implement professional development programs that enhance student services and advising practices. The Coordinator will play a crucial role in recruiting, communicating, and marketing ADELANTE initiatives to prospective students, faculty, university administrators, and other stakeholders. The focus of this role is on program development and the execution of the ADELANTE Fellowship program, with an emphasis on fostering a culturally responsive college culture in collaboration with the other ADELANTE projects and the UA HSI (Hispanic-Serving Institution) office. Duties & Responsibilities |
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administer and Assist with the development, implementation, and evaluation of the ADELANTE Fellowship program and related initiatives.
- Support the Borderlands Fellows program and resources in which faculty and staff, advisors, can participate.
- Work with the project director to to select fellow participants.
- Administer application process, interview matching, and participant reflections.
- Ensure alignment with University policies and Title V grant requirements.
- Work in coordination with the PI in the development and maintain program schedules, budgets, and reports.
- Work with grant administrator to distribute participant stipends, and keep track of project transactions.
- Design and implement professional development opportunities that enhance student services and advising practices.
- Coordinate and facilitate training sessions and workshops for faculty and staff as part of the Borderlands Fellows Program.
- Assist with the Development and execute strategies for recruiting prospective students into the ADELANTE Fellowship program.
- Communicate and market ADELANTE initiatives effectively to faculty, administrators, advisors, counselors, and staff.
- Create promotional materials and manage outreach efforts.
- Collaborate with COE team to manage the webpage, promotion and application process for programs.
- Foster partnerships with other HSI and ADELANTE projects to support a culturally responsive college environment.
- Participate in on-going HSI ADELANTE culturally responsive activities (e.g., CHAMBA, Border experiential learning sessions).
- Monitor compliance with Title V grant requirements and University policies.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on program progress and outcomes to stakeholders and funding agencies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated experience in program coordination, preferably in higher education or grant-funded projects.
- Strong understanding of Title V US Department of Education grant guidelines and Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) initiatives.
- Excellent communication, marketing, and outreach skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.

Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Experience in developing professional development programs and workshops.
- Experience in culturally responsive practices in higher education.
- Bilingual -English and Spanish - biliteracy competencies.
