Printpack has an opening for a Maintenance Lead at our Villa Rica 1 Converting plant. The Maintenance Lead position provides additional leadership to the maintenance team and actively participates in the performance of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, & repairs for the entire facility and equipment. The Maintenance Lead assists the Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Supervisor in staffing and enforcing company work rules, policies, and procedures. This is a Monday - Friday night shift position; however, the exact hours are to be determined and overtime and flexibility will be required.
MinimumRequirements: * A minimum of five (5) years industrial maintenance experience, with advanced electronic experience and system knowledge * Must be in good standing (No Discipline above Step 1 within 90 days at time of application. * Proven troubleshooting abilities with electrical and mechanical systems including PLC, Drives, PC, Industrial control systems, and mechanical components * Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics and ladder logic, including component level concepts * Required to respond to off-hours problems and over-the-phone troubleshootingof systems throughout the facility * Ability to organize, plan and lead projects involving in-plant technicians and contract labor * Experience organizing, planning and executing preventive maintenance events involving multiple employees from different departments * Experience with development of effective preventative maintenance tasks and executing preventative maintenance events * Strong leadership skills are required including assigning and following up on daily and long-term tasks, handling associate discipline issues, and associate performance management * Supervision experience with technicians covering multiple disciplines * Experience working with vendors to procure parts required to complete project work in both electrical and mechanical systems * Experience maintaining building systems including compressors, pumps, HVAC, closed loop chiller systems, plant communications and fire control system
Key Responsibilities:
Manages maintenance work requests from production floor, determines priority and assigns a technician Ensures team members comply with all safety and good manufacturing practices Communicates to production and quality assurance equipment break downs and estimated time needed to complete repairs Confers with vendors, management, engineering and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment. Audits work of team members to ensure job standards are met. Conveys all worker grievances to maintenance supervisor or manager. Conducts meetings at the beginning of each shift to update incoming maintenance personnel on status of break downs, repairs, and troubleshooting done during the night shift. Steps in and helps when needed to troubleshoot and fix equipment breakdowns quickly. Manages equipment PM tasks and assigns work and priority for PMs. Supports nights and weekend shifts when issues arise and comes in for support when necessary. Tracks down sources for spare parts and places orders for replacements. Holds technicians accountable for complying with company policies. Identifies and supports training opportunities for the maintenance department. Works with storeroom on damaged parts to be sent out for repair. Works with department managers and machine operators to service their maintenance needs from the department in a timely fashion. Coordinates with Maintenance Manager on maintenance overtime project work to be done. Ensures that equipment support is called for any breakdowns lasting more than 4 hours. Helps manage storeroom inventory by ensuring the maintenance department checks out any parts used from the storeroom.
