Job Description
Primary responsibilities include providing counseling services, supervising mental health providers, coordinating overall department clinical services, and delivering educational programs to the campus community. This position requires availability on evenings and weekends as necessary for student emergencies within university approved housing. Key Responsibilities:
- Serves as a senior clinician who provides counseling services (individual, group, walk-in and crisis) within a brief treatment model
- Hires, trains, supervises, and consults with mental health providers and trainees
- Coordinates overall department clinical services, such as stepped care, triage, groups, walk-in coverage, crisis intervention, and collaboration with other university partner departments
- Develops, revises, and maintains policies and procedures to ensure adherence to best clinical practices and legal and ethical guidelines
- Oversees department data collection, reporting, and software for clients
- Assists in oversight of department operations, personnel, and financial activities; acts on behalf of the Director in her/his absence
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, or related field
- Licensed Professional Counselor or equivalent licensure as a mental health professional
- Five years' experience in a university/college counseling center providing mental health services
- Experience supervising counselors for licensure
- Experience in treatment of alcohol, drug, and trauma issues
- Experience in crisis intervention with students in university (approved) housing facilities
- Experience working with student organizations, athletics, and campus/community groups
- Training and experience in staff supervision, administration, and leadership
- Well established community relationships to enhance referrals
- Experience working with health and wellbeing coalitions and stakeholder groups
- Experience using and managing counseling software, such as Titanium
Anticipated Hiring Range
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $65,000-$80,000 annually. Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
