The Senior Manager, Product & Engineering is responsible for implementing the design, product and technical build, support and maintenance of a key product or limited product portfolio, as well as the supporting technology capabilities and infrastructure that support that product in an Agile driven environment. Most often leading teams of 20+ FTE with skip level employees, and may lead teams of onshore and offshore contracting companies. Direct reporting line may include team(s) of Product Manager(s), First Line Managers & Technical architects.
Sr Manager is also responsible for attracting, hiring, retaining a high performing, full stack, team of Product Managers, Software Developers, architects, other members of technical staff, and Managers to support products and platforms. This role is also directly accountable for developing strong and productive relationships outside your direct teams with Customer or Customer representative teams, partner organizations, dependent engineering teams, and supporting vendors.
Job Responsibilities:
- Effectively leads technical product and engineering teams to achieve results by providing appropriate direction, timely developmental feedback and coaching, tools to do job by role and conducting performance reviews and conversations. Creating training, career development plans and ensures assignments with increasing levels of responsibility Monitors and measures work tasks to ensure deliverables are provided on time and within budget.
- Defines and drives continuous development practice improvements across technical subject areas and organizations (e.g. team structure, roles, processes, tooling, security & compliance).
- Oversees technical relationships with multiple assigned vendors, including driving features and function requests for inclusion in future product releases.
- Driving and owning current and future state technical road map in collaboration with Design and Enterprise Architecture and building/maintaining cross organizational teams -
- Plan and implement appropriate protective measures to include policy, process, and overall cybersecurity awareness.
- Develop strategy, roadmap, and requirements for enterprise information protection to align with technology, product, and overall business strategy.
- Maintain visibility of cyber security efforts and connect with many security groups during cybersecurity events to coordinate multi-functional efforts
- Seeks out strategic relationships that will increase team output, process accuracy, decrease time to market, or otherwise improve the customer experience on a consistent basis.
- Establishes and contributes to mutually beneficial shared goals with other teams. Adapts approach to accomplish team goals.
- Uses the capabilities, insights, and ideas of others.
- Works to effectively resolve conflict between teams. Enable and Support Other People Leaders .
- Strategically seeks to Increase Adoption Rate across services within the practice.
- Interviews and hires qualified managers and team members, striving to improve T-Mobile bench strength and augmenting product or project teams with contract staff when required.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Engineering, IT or equivalent experience. (Required)
Work Experience
- 7-10 years Relevant Product Management experience in an agile software product development environment. (Required)
- 2-4 years Experience in a leadership role. (Required)
- 2-4 years Experience leading teams of 5 or more resources in direct reporting relationship in a Product Management organization. (Preferred)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Agile Methodologies: Shown success in delivering software with Agile Scrum methodologies and other commonly used tools. (Required)
- Technical Writing: Strong requirements elicitation, and shown writing skills including the ability to write concisely and clearly for different audiences. (Required)
- Agile Project Management: Experience with Agile backlog/project management tools. (Required)
- Collaboration: Experience with successive elaboration and ability to develop Initiatives, Features and User Stories that the DevOps teams can ingest. (Required)
- Technology: Experience in delivering large and complex business/technology initiatives. (Required)
- Communication: Proven track record to effectively and efficiently connect with Leadership, while employing a high degree of collaboration and influence.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present sophisticated technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences including executives and non-technical leaders. (Required)
- Familiarity and well versed with IAM technologies and practices such as IGA , PAM , Access Management, Certificate Management and Secret Management.
- Business Analysis: Strong skills with shown ability to identify/analyze/synthesize product use data. (Required)
Licenses and Certifications
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) Scrum Product Owner Certification (CSPO) (Preferred)
- Other Technical Certification Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) (Preferred)

Base Pay Range: $148,000 - $266,900
Corporate Bonus Target: 20%
The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.
At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year.
