THE POSITION

The Bureau of Driver Licensing is hiring a Clerical Assistant 2 that will search and provide various driver information products for the general public, department personnel, employers, insurance companies/agencies, law enforcement agencies, legislators, courts, attorneys, messengers, wholesale providers & other state/federal agencies.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, the Clerical Assistant 2 will review applications and payment methods prior to processing requests. Rejects documents to customer for insufficient fees or more information needed to ensure that customer receives accurate information/product. The CA2 will use a PC for the data entry process, selecting the requested driving record, producing a letter of clearance, providing micro-film copies, utilizing ECS, scanning and attestations. Verifies and mails completed information to customers to ensure that each customer receives the appropriate record. Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday-Friday, with a 1-hour lunch.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $35,306 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
