The Department of Corrections, North Shore Sub Office, is seeking an organized, positive individual to provide clerical support. Senate Bill 411 merged the Department of Corrections and the Board of Probation and Parole. This position is within the Department of Corrections. If you are a dedicated individual with a positive attitude, is organized, and pays attention to details, as well as having a strong interest in clerical work, this may be the position for you. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Clerical Assistant 2 you will provide clerical and office support. You will be responsible for filing, typing a variety of documents, and inputting data for various departments within the institution, operate office equipment and maintaining computer databases and records.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 1-hour lunch.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $35,306 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
- Three (3) years or more of experience using Microsoft Word.
- Three (3) years or more of experience using Microsoft Excel.
- Two (2) years or more of experience answering and assisting with incoming telephone calls.
- Two (2) years or more of experience utilizing various office equipment such as a personal computer, copying, machine, facsimile machine, and postage meter.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
