Responsibilities

Harbor Point Behavioral Health Center offers hope and healing for youth ages 7 to 17 at the time of admission with several psychiatric diagnoses and/or developmental disabilities. Located in Portsmouth, VA, Harbor Point provides intensive, residential treatment to youth in a comfortable setting that is conducive to healing. Our facility specializes in treating children and adolescents with depression, bipolar, ADHD, and other mental health issues. We also have specific treatment programs for those with intellectual disabilities or those with self-injurious behavior. Harbor Point and its programs are fully accredited by The Joint Commission and the Virginia Association of Independent Specialized Educational Facilities. We are licensed by The Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and the Virginia Department of Education. We are a TRICARE-approved and certified facility.

Position Scope:

Processes and pays all bills received by the facility.

Essential Functions:
  1. Process accounts payable invoices.
  2. Completes specific accounting job functions.
  3. Manages timekeeping system
  4. Prepares payroll checks for distribution
  5. Completes specific accounting department job functions
  6. Service Excellence

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Must possess knowledge of and ability to effectively operate a personal computer, Microsoft Excel and Word, ten-key calculator, typewriter, telephone, copier. Must possess good written and oral communications skills. Must be knowledgeable of and abide by HIPAA regulations with regard to protected health information as defined by HIPAA and company guidance. Minimally accesses verbal, written and/or electronic PHI, usually incidentally to an approved use and/or disclosure as pertains to employees' financial, demographic, and/or clinical data. An individual must be able to perform each essential function of the job satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities, who are otherwise qualified, to perform the essential functions.

Education and Experience:

Associates degree or equivalent experience. Three or more years' financial experience, preferably in accounts payable, general ledger and fixed assets, and preferably in a health care setting. Must possess knowledge of all accounting applications, fixed assets, property tax returns, data processing functions; and internal control requirements for accounting department. Must possess knowledge of all aspects of payroll requirements; strong knowledge of Fair Labor Standards Act.

Licensure/Certification:

Must possess valid driver's license. Travel for administrative purposes may be required (purchasing of needed supplies/errands/etc.)
