Department Description The Bass Cancer Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Diseases is a comprehensive patient care area that encompasses both inpatient and outpatient services. The Bass Center - Inpatient area, is a total of 49 beds, which encompasses PCU 500 and PCU 520: - PCU 500: A 25 bed inpatient Hematology and Oncology unit. Patients are admitted with a new diagnosis of any type of cancer and readmitted for ongoing therapy and treatment of side effects. - PCU 520: A 24 bed inpatient Stem Cell Transplant unit. Patients with metabolic and genetic disorders, in addition to patients with cancer, are admitted for allogeneic bone marrow, autologous bone marrow and stem cell transplants. The Bass Center also has an outpatient clinic serving hematology, oncology and stem cell transplant patients and their families; a procedure room with capability for general anesthesia; onsite phlebotomy and laboratory services; a fully equipped infusion center for short stays; and a specialized pharmacy. Clinical Practice Quality Specialists are Registered Nurses with advanced degrees who utilize evidence-informed practice to facilitate and lead improvements in patient care and in the work environment. The Clinical Practice Quality Specialist works independently yet collaboratively to serve as members or leaders of inter-professional teams to implement evidence-based practice and specialty standards, lead improvement and change initiatives and utilize data and standard processes to assess patient outcomes. Major responsibilities include but are not limited to leadership, expert clinical practice in a subspecialty practice area, education of team members, facilitating and conducting evidence-based practice including dissemination, and professional development of the inter-professional team. Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying. Education: Master's Degree in Nursing is required Experience: Three (3) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience. Pediatric nursing and/or healthcare operations experience preferred. License/Certification: Active Nursing License from the California Board of Registered Nurses These are the observable and measurable attributes and skills required to perform successfully the essential functions of the job and are generally demonstrated through qualifying experience, education, or licensure/certification.

Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.
