Job Title: Medical Receptionist Job Description Join our team as a Medical Receptionist in the nuclear medicine department. This department has a slower patient flow, performing up to 5 stress tests and 4 general studies a day. As the front desk receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients, managing their check-in and appointment scheduling. You will work closely with 7 technicians in the back and handle various administrative tasks throughout the day. Responsibilities * Greet and check-in patients upon arrival, verify demographic and insurance information, and enter information into the electronic medical records (EMR) system. * Schedule appointments for patients, both in-person and over the phone, and follow up on missed appointments. * Verify insurance coverage and collect co-payments or outstanding balances from patients. * Maintain and update patient records, ensuring accuracy and completeness. * Coordinate with medical staff to ensure patient needs are met and appointments are scheduled in a timely manner. * Respond to patient inquiries and concerns, escalating issues to appropriate staff members when necessary. * Ensure compliance with all HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality guidelines. * Perform other administrative duties as assigned by management, including faxing, scanning, mail handling, and signing for packages. Essential Skills * 3+ years of experience as a medical receptionist at a healthcare provider. * Proficiency in front desk operations and administrative support. * Experience with patient registration and clerical tasks. * Knowledge of medical terminology. * Experience using EPIC electronic medical records system. * High School Diploma. Work Environment The work hours are either 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday, or 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with an 8-hour shift assigned by the department. The radiology department consists of 6 different areas with a team of 14-19 members. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Boston, Massachusetts. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
