Under long-range administrative direction, the Director of Acquisition & Integration is a senior management role in the Office of Correctional Medicine (OCM) and serves as the administrator, manager and supervisor of large-scale acquisition and integration initiatives in the area healthcare integration services. The Director of Acquisition & Integration will work to plan and advance OCM service delivery advancements in new locations, develop strategies to optimize new partnerships, manage cross-functional project and program teams necessary to support acquisition and integration, and establish the groundwork to ensure that those efforts become sustainable operating programs and partnerships. The Director of Director of Acquisition & Integration will be responsible for continually refining overall acquisition and integration processes and will work with the Executive Director and other OCM leaders to improve upon the model.

Examples of Duties

I. Administration: 90% A. Serves as the Office of Correctional Medicine's (OCM) Director of Acquisition & Integration with responsibility for planning, organizing, managing, evaluating, and enhancing correctional partnerships and service delivery acquisition, integration and growth; participates in and supports acquisition and integration negotiation processes and compiles necessary data and reports in support of same; provide leadership and expert counsel in establishing and implementing standards, guidelines and best practices for the development and deployment of acquisition and integration solutions. B. Develop clinical integration strategies to improve patient outcomes and cost efficiency through coordinated care pathways; research and recommend data sharing mechanisms to enable real-time clinical decision-making and population health management; oversee the development and implementation of acquisition and integration metrics and performance improvement initiatives. C. Conduct due diligence assessments to identify potential integration challenges and opportunities; develop comprehensive integration plans outlining key strategic priorities, timelines, and responsibilities; monitor financial performance and identify areas for cost optimization and revenue enhancement. D. Analyze viability of acquisition and integration efforts in specific and targeted locations and with diverse populations; take ownership of key strategic alliances on behalf of the OCM; clearly organize acquisition, healthcare and other integration priorities and deliverables and bring measurable impact. E. Create robust project plans to manage the complexities of both individual and global integrations, tracking progress toward key milestones and objectives (operationally and commercially); ensure thorough risk management and issue resolution related to integration activities, working proactively to mitigate potential problems and address any challenges that arise; partner with leaders in partner organizations to understand businesses operations and processes and identify opportunities for streamlining, enabling culture harmonization and financial growth post-acquisition. F. Develop strategies to optimize new partnerships, manage cross-functional project and program teams necessary to support acquisition and integration, and establish the groundwork to ensure that those efforts become sustainable operating programs and partnerships. G. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and corporate governance standards throughout the acquisition process; monitors post-acquisition performance against expected outcomes and making recommendations for improvement; guides due diligence and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. H. Guide and support cross-functional teams in all aspects of acquisition and integration efforts; responsible for the management, direction, planning, evaluation and monitoring of acquisition, integration and growth programming, including but not limited to personnel management, business functions, field operations, continuous improvement, compliance, facilities, and financial sustainability. I. Develops overall acquisition and integration strategies, including start-up process/roadmap, replication models, and alternative service delivery methods; identify areas of over or under-utilization; work with OCM's senior leadership to develop and implement corrective action plans resulting in required process changes and outcomes when aberrant trends are identified. J. Assists with National Commission for Correctional Medicine Care accreditation processes. K. Develops and implements processes and programs to shape working relationships, understands customer satisfaction, and resolves issues with internal and/or external customers, partners and stakeholders. L. Responsible for the development of policy, standard operating procedure, workflow, job aides, training materials acquisition and integration efforts; ensure internal staff/colleagues attend/receive required training. M. Direct the Acquisition & Integration Section's collection, compilation and analysis of data to drive sound business decisions and leverage data to determine program needs, trends, improvement opportunities and outcomes and establish processes and metrics to continuously monitor program performance, outcomes, and ROI. N. Regularly communicates with OCM Executive Director in order to jointly evaluate acquisition and integration outcomes, quality, affordability, and operational results with specific and agreed to sets of metrics; ensures that program outcomes are available to support funding processes and demonstrate value proposition. O. Consistently supports compliance by maintaining privacy/confidentiality of information, displaying ethics and integrity, reporting non-compliance and adhering to applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, accreditation and license requirements (if applicable) and to current partner and SIU School of Medicine policies and procedures.
II. Research 5% A. Utilizes correctional care knowledge to participate in appropriate research and training; provides advice and consultation to research staff. B. Publish research on correctional medicine business or clinic model findings in peer reviewed journals and other suitable media. C. Present research at local, regional, national or international platforms.
III. Teaching 5% A. Develop and conduct trainings as appropriate B. Utilizes correctional medicine care knowledge to teach residents, students and partners C. Participates in education conferences, seminars, and lectures for resident physicians and medical students D. Educate staff and partners on systems, structure, processes, best practices and outcomes that are necessary for assurance of regulatory compliance related to OCM Acquisition & Integration Section activities.

1. Requires a master's degree in health services administration, healthcare management, law or legal studies, business administration, management, industrial/organizational psychology or related field 2. Requires five (5) years of senior level experience in a legal, grievance administration/processing and/or healthcare management field in a correctional setting 3. Five (5) years of progressively responsible and successful experience in institutional or government operations, planning and program implementation with demonstrated abilities and success in management and supervision, including the concurrent management of numerous, complex projects. Strong multi-tasking skills 4. Requires proven senior administrator experience in a state government or related organization with demonstrated leadership ability, confidence and executive presence - ability to motivate staff 5. Experience with systems or program design, development, implementation, transformation or transition 6. Experience developing and understanding legal documents, contracts and consulting agreements
