Chemical Engineer (Process Operations Lead)

The Role:

Kao is seeking a Chemical Engineer or Mechanical Engineer to be a Process Operations Lead (also known as a Liquid Making Team Lead internally) who will manage the assigned Liquid Making Shift operation and personnel!

Reporting to the Processing Manager, the Team Lead will coordinate production schedule requirements with Packaging Team Leader and will ensure production is achieved in safe, efficient, and high-quality manner. You will also optimize processes to improve safety, quality, or efficiency.

This is a third shift position, approx. 10pm - 6:30am. Weekend coverage is occasionally necessary due to business needs.

What you will do:



  • Ensure safe, efficient, and effective utilization of Making personnel, equipment, and financial resources
  • Ensure compliance with all FDA Regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Quality Assurance Standards
  • Ensure total compliance to Company directed Safety STOP and Plant 5s Programs
  • Identify, write, and obtain approval for all required Departmental Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions. Audit and update current SOP's and WI's as required by Company policy
  • Evaluate Technical staff performance; write hourly PA's
  • Trouble shoot equipment and process issues affecting safety, quality, and production
  • Evaluate current operations and provide suggestions for improvements to safety, quality, and efficiency


What you will need:



  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical preferred)
  • Recent graduate in Engineering with prior Internship experience will be considered
  • Willingness for a long term overseas assignment, potentially after the initial 2 - 3 years
  • 3+ years' experience in a production environment
  • 3+ years' prior experience as a plant services technician or quality services technician
  • Prior experience managing 3+ direct reports
