What do our Residential Route Trainee's do?

The primary purpose of this role is learning to deliver timely, safe, and effective pest control service for each established and new residential customer on an assigned route. This includes completing regular inspections to ensure continued service effectiveness and to communicate effectively with customers before and after services are performed to advise them of findings and recommendations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Learn to deliver timely, safe, and effective pest control service for each established and new customer on assigned route

  • Demonstrate understanding how to complete quarterly/annual inspections to ensure continued service efficacy, and identify/document any concerning conditions

  • Demonstrate ability to advise customers of service work completed, summarize concerning conditions, relate recommended solutions/benefits, gain commitment, and collaborate with other team members on needed follow-ups

  • Demonstrate ability to maintain safe and clean vehicle/equipment, and ensure sufficient quantities of product to meet route service needs

  • Demonstrate ability to Maintain proactive route schedule management, partnering with management and branch support center as needed for any scheduling interventions

  • Satisfactorily complete initial technical training and participate in regular update training to stay current with proven methods and practices

  • Complete training, certifications, & licensing

Key Skills:

  • Ability to follow instructions for mixing on product labels

  • Solid reading, writing, and verbal communication skills and the ability to present information in both internal and external settings

  • Basic math skills - add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure - using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

What do you need?

  • High school diploma or GED (preferred)

  • Maintain licenses/certificates as required by federal, state, and/or local regulations

  • Must successfully meet pre-employment background screen

  • Must possess a valid driver's license from state of residence and pass motor vehicle record search.

  • Travel up to 100% of time within assigned territory(s)

Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions

  • Moving up to 20 lbs by lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or repositioning objects

  • Sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling

  • Working in damp and/or dusty locations, confined spaces, narrow aisles, or passageways

  • Going up and down stairs, ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles

  • Operating a motor vehicle safely

  • Ensuring vehicle and other equipment is maintained and kept clean

  • Wearing personal protective equipment, including OSHA-compliant respirators

  • Having healthy vision to perform detail-oriented activities at distances close to the eyes or within arm's reach

  • Ability to tolerate a variety of environmental conditions, including seasonal weather (extreme heat/cold)

  • Flexibility with working hours, including some evening and weekend work, a rotating on-call schedule, and extended (50-60 hours/wk) schedule during peak season
