Assistant Men's and Women's Tennis Coach (Full-Time), Athletics - Division of Student Affairs

Carnegie Mellon University is seeking applicants for a full-time assistant coach in its intercollegiate Men's and Women's Tennis programs. A national research university, Carnegie Mellon is a member of the NCAA Division III intercollegiate sports program. This full-time, 10-month position runs is benefits eligible and runs from August through May.

Core responsibilities will include:

• Demonstrate competency in sport skill instruction, motivation, and ability to conduct team and individual practice sessions under the direction of the head coach

• Recruitment of potential student-athletes

• Demonstrate sincere interest in personal, academic, and athletic progress of student-athletes

• Exhibit supportive and cooperative behavior pursuing sport programs goals set by the head coach

• Leadership ability and professional behavior when working with student-athletes

• Assist head coach with organization and implementation of daily practice sessions and games

• Transporting team in vans to off campus matches and practices

• Ability to work outside of normal business hours and on weekends

• Willingness and ability to string racquets

• Teaching in the physical education program

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred

• 1-3 years of college tennis coaching experience preferred

• A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is proven may be considered.
