The Manager - Regulatory and Industry Affairs - Refrigerants will implement and modify strategies and oversee activities related to environmental regulations affecting assigned products/solutions, ensuring internal stakeholders are apprised of proposed and pending regulations and interact with external stakeholders and regulatory bodies during development of regulations. He/She will collaborate with team members to create and implement Daikin Applied America's (DAA) decarbonization, energy, refrigerants and indoor environmental quality strategies. This key player is responsible for refrigerants advocacy with US, Canada, State regulators and other relevant stakeholders.

Additionally, this leader will understand external trends and policies that impact assigned products/solutions,comprehend business risks and opportunities from multiple aspects, communicate them to leaders and incorporate them into strategies and action plans. He/She would be an expert on refrigerants and refrigerant regulations, including EPA AIM Act, Ney York, Washington, California, and other states as well as refrigerant safety regulations. He/She will collaborate with other Daikin environmental regulatory entities to ensure unified strategies and effective execution to achieve positive business results. Location: Remote - Plymouth, MN

What you will do:



  • Implement and modify DAA environmental advocacy strategies and policies in assigned areas in collaboration with other Daikin entities
  • Represent DAA on assigned working/task groups
  • Implement DAA energy and efficiency strategic plans and priority initiatives
  • Support research in collaboration with global experts and alliances (government and nongovernment)
  • Interact and advocate for DAA with industry trade association staff and committees (Ex. AHRI,
    ASHRAE), governmental regulatory agencies (Ex. DOE, EPA) and safety agencies (Ex. UL, ETL, ASME)
  • Participate on assigned technical and regulatory committees for standards and regulations affecting company products/solutions
  • Collaborate with R&D functions and product and engineering managers to develop technology and solutions plans
  • Monitor North American federal (U.S. and Canada) and provincial (Canada) regulations that directly or indirectly affect assigned products/solutions (Regulations may include energy consumption, energy efficiency standards, decarbonization, refrigerants and/or IEQ related regulations and standards, and test procedures)
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position
  • 4 Year Bachelor's Degree (STEM degree preferred)
  • 8+ Years of Regulatory and Industry Affairs experience
  • Ability to travel 20% (approx 1 week per month)

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $125,000 - $135,000 (+ bonus). The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
