The Oregon Youth Authority (OYA) is seeking a dedicated and forward-thinking leader to serve as the Facility Services Assistant Director. This executive-level role is critical in overseeing Oregon's youth correctional and transitional facilities, shaping statewide policies, and driving the mission of transforming young lives. As a key member of OYA's Executive Leadership Team, you will lead over 600 staff in fostering safe, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed environments that empower youth to build productive, crime-free futures.

We are searching for a candidate with a passion for youth-serving systems, a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and the ability to lead with integrity. Your expertise in change management, sound judgment, and thoughtful decision-making will guide teams to embrace organizational values and achieve strategic goals. This position also serves as a policy advisor to the Director, Governor's Office, and legislature on issues impacting youth corrections and public safety.

What You Need to Qualify:

  • Seven years of management experience; OR
  • four years of management experience and a bachelor's degree in a related field.

Special Qualifications:

  • Driving is an essential function of this position. A valid driver license and an acceptable driving record are required for this position. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s).

Relocation Assistance:

OYA is prepared to offer relocation assistance to the successful candidate. This will come as a reimbursement and follow State of Oregon Department of Administrative Services Policy 40.055.20 which allows for reimbursement of expenses with receipts within the following categories (limits per category) not to exceed $10,000:

  • Moving of personal household belongings (up to 20,000 lbs.)
  • Packing, crating, and unpacking of personal household belongings ($1,500)
  • Additional moving charges for full value insurance, appliance blocking charges, extra handling charges ($2,000)
  • Private vehicle mileage from old to new residence (two vehicles)
  • Miscellaneous Expenses ($5,000)
