Job Description

The Department of Surgery at the University of Missouri has an opportunity for a Program Manager I within the General Surgery Residency Program. The Program Coordinator works in concert with the Residency Program Director, Office of Graduate Medical Education, Department Chair, and Chief Resident. All ACGME requirements must be strictly followed and coordinated with policies set forth by the institution, along with numerous other State and Federal Guidelines.

Position requires constant attention to detail pertaining to the residency program. Management of all components of job requires constant attention, an enormous capacity for multi-tasking, the ability to prioritize, the flexibility for switching from duty to duty as needed, and the tact and patience to answer the demands of and get along with extremely diverse personalities.
The Coordinator must possess the ability to work with individuals from multiple offices and agencies, multiple personalities, and individuals from different backgrounds and cultures.

Job Duties include:

*Develops, administers, and coordinates complex clinical rotation and on-call schedules for residents, and ensures that all rotation schedules are fully supported by appropriate sites and preceptors.
*In conjunction with the Program Director, develops the annual residency work schedule and project planning for the accreditation cycle.
*Assures required Program Letters of Agreement and Affiliation Agreements are in place for all off-site rotations.
*Maintains residency program records and evaluations; completes program reports in accordance with accreditation standards, tracks participant progress through the program for completion of requirements; coordinates information required for ongoing program recertification.
*Coordinates regular and special educational conferences for faculty and resident staff, as appropriate.
*Participates in the development of policies and procedures for the training program.
*Coordinates annual in-training examinations, including scheduling appropriate secure testing sites, ordering examinations, scheduling proctors, receiving materials, and returning materials to the appropriate specialty board.
*Prepares for, organizes, and participates in site visits, annual program updates, and program internal reviews, including arrangements for rooms, food service, and scheduling the site visitor meetings with faculty, residents, and administrative representatives.
*Assists the Program Director on an ongoing basis to ensure that the residency program maintains compliance with ACGME, RRC, and specialty board requirements.
*Maintains ongoing accreditation documentation in the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) WebAds System. *Performs other related duties.

Shift

Shift Type: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Office/Administrative Hours: Yes -- Position will have Office/Admin Hours.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Hiring Range: $51,875.20 - $81,744.00 (Yearly)
Grade: GGS-9E
