Assistant Professor of Business Beginning August 2025 POSITION SUMMARY. The Francis J. Noonan School of Business, Engineering, and Innovation at Loras College invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Business available August 2025. The business program at Loras includes majors in Accounting, Business Administration, Business Analytics, Finance, Marketing, and Sport Management, as well as several related minors. These majors at the college have continued their upward trajectory and are typically some of the largest on campus. The usual teaching load is 24 hours/credits per academic year, although first-year faculty have a 21-credit load. The precise courses taught will depend on the candidate's areas of expertise and the needs of the business programs, although there is a strong preference for candidates with analytics, business, and/or economics interests and the ability to teach a variety of such courses (visit: https://loras.edu/undergraduate-academics/ to find a full list of courses in the majors and minors). Development of new major electives in line with the candidate's expertise is welcomed. The successful candidate will be an individual committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE. An M.B.A. or Master's degree in analytics, business, economics, or related field is required. A doctorate in analytics, business, economics, or a related field is desirable. College-level teaching experience preferred. Industry experience is a plus. COMPENSATION. Commensurate with qualifications, education, and experience. The Noonan School of Business, Engineering, and Innovation consists of 30 full-time faculty members and offers majors in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Engineering, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Public Relations, Creative Media, etc. THE COLLEGE. Founded in 1839, Loras College is a Catholic, primarily undergraduate, liberal arts institution that includes pre-professional and career preparation programs, as well as several graduate programs. Loras College's 60-acre campus is located on one of Dubuque's highest bluffs, overlooking the Mississippi River at the junction of the states of Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin, about 3 hours west of Chicago. Dubuque's population is approximately 60,000 and its nineteenth-century architecture is woven into limestone bluffs and provides a picturesque backdrop to the river landscape. Many residential and commercial areas have been designated as historical districts to preserve Dubuque's unique heritage. Its strong education base supports numerous cultural activities, and in addition, there are sporting events, shopping facilities, schools, and churches that are convenient to its residents. The climate has marked seasons with a comfortable summer, cool spring, and fall, and a winter that encourages a variety of sports that have in recent years attracted a growing tourism industry.
