Assigns and reviews the work of stores and laboring personnel.


Essential Functions



  • Assigns and reviews the work of storekeepers by monitoring the receipt, storage and issuance of equipment, materials and supplies.
  • Organizes and leads work activities.
  • Examines incoming shipment to verify receipt of the correct type and quantity of materials and supplies.
  • Stores items at designated locations.
  • Issues materials and supplies to personnel from warehouses and the various city agencies.
  • Maintains inventory control and stock records.
  • Takes physical inventories.
  • Lifts, pushes, shoves and hauls heavy stock items.
  • Operates such materials handling equipment as forklifts and hand trucks.
  • Observes stores activities, reports irregular activities and missing items and recommends improvements in security.
  • May drive vehicle to pick up and deliver materials and supplies for the storeroom.
  • Performs and promotes all activities in compliance with equal employment and nondiscrimination policies; follows federal laws, state laws, school board's policies and the professional standards.

Desired Qualifications



  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Two years of storing and issuing equipment and supplies experience.
  • Maryland Class C Noncommercial or an equivalent out-of-state driver's license may be required.
  • Knowledge of the procedures for receiving, storing and shipping materials and supplies.
  • Knowledge of the methods and procedures of taking inventory.
  • Ability to operate materials handling equipment.
  • Ability to maintain simple stock records.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
