From your PASSION to ours

The Compliance Manager role provides leadership and technical assistance to operations by managing food safety and compliance systems as well as by instilling regulatory awareness and commitment. They will perform fact-based assessments and audits on manufacturing systems. They ensure all records, procedures, packaging, and equipment are in compliance with all Federal, State, and other regulatory requirements. They assist in the development of new quality systems, internal regulation, and personnel management. This person is responsible for supervision of Quality team members.

From your EXPERTISE to ours

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Create, modify, maintain, and assure effectiveness of the plant HACCP and Quality programs. This includes interpreting regulations, acting as the regulatory liaison between the plant and regulatory bodies, training plant personnel in the execution of regulatory principles, and managing input into our regulatory systems.
  • Assists in the identification and achievement of facility Quality KPI's through appropriate corrective/preventative actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead customer and consumer complaint investigations and response with corrective and preventative actions.
  • Act as the leader to manage through regulatory program deviations. This includes determining product disposition and ensuring adequate process corrective and preventative actions.
  • Co-Leads all internal and external auditing activities and follow-up. Assures the plant maintains compliance to external standards such as ISO 9001, FSSC 22000 and customer standards.
  • Perform as the liaison between the plant and any corporate contacts for food safety issues.
  • Reviews R&D Plant Trial Requests for quality and food safety compliance and grants approval for execution of these trials.
  • Ensures the required quality and regulatory training is maintained.
  • Support and leads the development of new quality systems/programs across the facility.
  • Provide Quality support for plant projects and initiatives in the manufacturing environment.
  • Serve as backup to the Quality Manager in cases of business-related absences, vacation, or illness.
  • Deal directly with Government Inspectors, Corporate Quality, Research and Development, Plant Manager, Production Manager, Team Leaders, Line Technicians.
  • Manage disposition for holds associated with deviations to HACCP and Quality Programs.
  • Working knowledge of SAP, serve as primary owner for factory Quality Suite program.
  • Coach and develop direct reports. Manage training progress for new employees on your team

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in quality roles.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong basic understanding of regulatory compliance.
  • Strong mathematics knowledge including statistics.
  • Strong communication skills to communicate direction and new methodology to employees.
  • Strong computer skills with a working knowledge of Word, Excel, SAP, and PowerPoint for report writing and presentations.
