Position Summary:

The Community Work Incentives Coordinator (CWIC) provides work incentives planning, assistance and outreach services to Social Security beneficiaries with disabilities who want to work and increase their self-sufficiency. CWIC assists individuals to solve problems related to their benefits and make decisions about returning to the workforce by providing up to date information on all government benefits, giving information on accessing work incentives, and understanding the Ticket to Work program.

Day in the life: In a typical day, a Community Work Incentives Coordinator can expect to...



  • Work Incentives Planning and Assistance: Provide clear, accurate and credible information about the impact of work earnings on government benefits.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain complete and accurate documentation for participant files which uphold service quality and data privacy by following policies, procedures, and established timelines
  • Public Benefits Programs Knowledge: Actively seek information regarding public benefit programs' eligibility criteria, application process, interactions with earned income, the impact of wages and assets of spouse or parents, work incentives and how to use them, and reporting requirements.
  • Education and Outreach: Work with the Work Incentives Connection team to facilitate outreach and educational events throughout the state on Social Security work incentives, the Ticket to Work program and the Power of Work.



Job Pay & Perks:



  • Typical starting pay range: $25.24 - $37.04
  • This is a flexible-hybrid role whose essential functions allow the employee to primarily work from a personal home office but also require the employee to work at a physical GESMN or partner facility as business needs require, sometimes with great urgency and little notice.

    About You:

    Required Knowledge & Skills:



    • Knowledge of marketing and sales techniques.
    • Public speaking, presentation and facilitation skills.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Suite and database management.
    • Ability to work well with individuals with diverse backgrounds and across cultures.
    • Knowledge of social services, education and workforce systems.
    • Verbal and written communication skills.
    • Planning, coordinating and time management skills.
    • Ability to work independently and multi-task.
    • Valid driver's license and ability to travel and transport marketing materials.
    • Ability to work some evening and weekend hours.



    Prior Experience & Education:



    • 1-3 Years of relevant experience required.
    • Work Incentives Planning and Assistance (WIPA) Community Work Incentives Coordinator (CWIC) or Community Partner Work Incentives Coordinator (CPWIC) certification preferred.
    • Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
