What You'll Do:

The Manager of Software Development provides guidance and oversees the work of a team responsible for designing, building, testing, deploying, maintaining, and supporting software and systems used by LGE. Develops short- and long-term departmental roadmaps to ensure continuous improvement of software and application solutions to ensure organizational needs are met.

Essential Functions:

  • Manages all facets of the SDLC for cross-functional application development.
  • Provides oversight and management of updates made to LGE's core system and external systems integration.
  • Provides oversight and management of LGE's data warehouse and Business Intelligence functions.
  • Provides oversight and management of LGE's database management function.
  • Works closely with the Systems Quality Assurance Analyst to provide guidance on the production of project-related programming specifications.
  • Ensures Programming operations are performed in accordance with established standards, policies and procedures.
  • Oversee code and test-driven development including managing external contractors and 3rd party development partnerships.
  • Adherence to all compliance and regulatory requirements as set forth for our industry.
  • Collaborates and coordinates with IT staff, Project Management, business unit managers or marketing professionals to identify the functional requirements for new software programs or modifying existing ones.
  • Collaborate with product and business unit owners and offers technical guidance on integration and support.
  • Establishes and maintains good communication and coordination with system users.
  • Improves operations by conducting systems analysis; applies changes to programming-related policies and procedures.
  • Develops each employee to their highest potential by identifying their areas of improvement and appropriately coaching, training or correcting the employees' performance.
  • Deliver high-performance, enterprise applications and frameworks that are modular, performant, tested, documented and meeting current development best practices;
  • Primary escalation regarding technical questions on applications and production issue resolution.
  • Provides applicable reporting to management as requested.
  • Keeps management informed of significant problems and of progress attained in reaching established objectives.
  • Stays informed of changes in programming and computer technology.
  • Stays familiar with and follows all policies, procedures and processes which have been established in order to meet compliance requirements of all applicable federal regulations. The regulations include but are not limited to the Privacy Act, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Reg. CC and Patriot Act.

Who you are:

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent college degree/technical training/certification
  • Required: 3 years of managerial or leadership experience in overseeing software development function
  • Required: 2 years Data Center & basic networking experience, MS Windows system administration, Active Directory, DNS, SQL Server/DBA, Cloud experience, preferably Azure Cloud
  • Required: 2 years project management experience
  • Preferred: Financial industry experience
  • Preferred: Experience programming/software development in a banking data environment, preferably Symitar core.
  • Preferred: Knowledge and experience programming with C#, .NET, XML, HTML, SQL
  • Excellent communications and multi-tasking skills
  • Must demonstrate the flexibility necessary for working in emergency-style environment, willing to triage problems, and sometimes working odd or extra hours as needed
  • Ability to complete assigned projects within deadlines
  • Ability to inspire high performance software development and application programming teams
  • Strong collaborative experience with product owners and technical design teams
