Summary We are currently hiring for an Food Services Specialist II to join BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina. In this role as Food Services Specialist II, you will prepare and cook food service in a healthy, sanitary and cost-effective method. You will also lend assistance and direction to other staff members for food production and inventory.

Logistics

This position is full time (40 hours/week) Monday-Friday 6:00-2:30 and will be onsite at the I-20 @ Alpine Road Columbia, SC 29223 location.

What You Will Do:

  • Prepares and cooks food items at appropriate times. Uses approved procedures as stated in recipes or as communicated by manager. Relates food quality issues to manager.
  • Prepares and cooks items for catering including coordination with other food staff members.
  • Assists with inventory rotation and ordering as needed. Ensures all working areas in kitchen maintain grade-a sanitation rating.
  • Assists in the training of co-workers in approved sanitation methods and cost effective production.

To Qualify for This Position, You Will Need:

  • Required Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Required Work Experience: 2 Years Food production experience.
  • Skills and Abilities: Cleans area, Operating kitchen equipment, Preparing food, Reporting issues, Serves food, and Restocking inventories
