Job Title: Sr. Accountant, Property Accounting

Department: Controllership

Reporting To: GSS & Property Accounting Controller

Location: Remote

Summary: The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in managing lease accounting, fixed assets, and capital development for all North America entities. This role involves preparing account reconciliations, investigating variances, preparing journal entries, and collaborating with other teams to find creative solutions to challenges and issues. The ideal candidate will have advanced accounting skills, strong analytical abilities, and leadership capabilities. Additionally, the ideal candidate will demonstrate an eagerness to enhance processes, improve efficiencies, establish consistent controls, and possess strong research and technical skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the global lease accounting function, ensuring all leases are appropriately accounted for under ASC 842. Including; prepare all Journal Entries and reconciliations, maintain leases in lease accounting software, coordinate with the Real Estate department, and oversee lease transactions with the international teams.
  • Coordinate with IT and FP&A to appropriately track internal and external capitalized labor costs in accordance with GAAP. Including the appropriate recognition and treatment of cloud computing arrangements.
  • Manage fixed assetsincluding acquisition, depreciation, and disposal processes. Ensure all fixed assets are accurately recorded and reconciled in the general ledger.
  • Coordinate with department managersto estimate necessary capital expenditures and ensure proper tracking and reporting of fixed assets.
  • Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring all financial information is accurately reflected in the general ledger in compliance with GAAP.
  • Prepare account reconciliations and investigate significant variances or unexpected results.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring appropriate support and documentation.
  • Collaborate with other teams in the accounting and finance department, including Treasury, Financial Planning and Analysis, Payroll, and Tax.
  • Review and interpret financial reporting requirements, rules, and regulations.
  • Monitor and develop monthly reports of revenues and expenditures for projects.
  • Provide records of assets, liabilities, and other financial transactions.
  • Assist with the setup of processes and procedures.
  • Perform basic reconciliations of general ledger account balances, including appropriate support.
  • Investigate and resolve reconciling items in a timely fashion.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or CPA path required, MBA a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on lease accounting, fixed assets, and capital development.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Salary may vary depending on factors such as confirmed job-related skills, experience, and location.

However, the pay range for this position is as follows. Sales Positions are eligible for a Variable Incentive

$53,300.00 - $99,100.00
