JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Campus Recreation is looking for an experienced and dynamic person to join our team. Under the supervision and direction of the Assistant Director for Fitness and Wellbeing, the Coordinator for Fitness and Wellbeing will serve on a team responsible for the daily operation and management of personal training, instructional classes, and wellbeing programming. Fitness and Wellbeing programming conducts over 100 group fitness offerings, including a weekly group fitness class schedule, small group/instructional training classes, a variety of personal training packages, a dedicated wellbeing space, wellbeing programming, and special events throughout the year. Specific position responsibilities include:
Oversee the proper execution of programmatic plans in accordance with the Campus Recreation mission, vision, and values. Hire, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate student employees, including personal trainers, small group program instructors, wellbeing attendants, and program managers. Create and present training and leadership development materials for Fitness and Wellbeing part-time staff. Ensure the proper compliance with risk management processes and protocols for Fitness and Wellbeing programs, staff, and participants. Maintain all risk management records according to department and University policy. Review, update, and track all student employee records, certifications, staff accountability documentation, etc. Manage payroll for Fitness and Wellbeing students and part-time staff. Submit reservation requests for Fitness and Wellbeing programming, trainings, and special events. Plan and collaborate with campus partners for wellbeing programming and special events. Serve as an instructor for KINES 93: Enhancing Mastery in Physical Activity to train and prepare future personal trainers through theimplementation of the ACE curriculum. Oversee and staff the Campus Recreation wellbeing space. Ensure all programming is conducted in accordance with University, department, and ACE/AFAA/ACSM risk management standards.
Position Qualifications
A bachelor's degree or higher, plus three years of fitness/collegiate recreation experience is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A master's degree in recreation, exercise physiology, sport management, higher education, or a related field is preferred. Demonstrated experience in student development is required. Knowledge of collegiate fitness and wellbeing programs, including group exercise, personal training, small group training, instructional classes, or wellbeing programming, as demonstrated in past experiences is required. Knowledge of safety and risk management practices and industry standards as they relate to fitness and well-being is required. A current national certification for personal training from ACE, AFAAA, and/or ACSM plus a CPR/AED/First aid certification is required. A working knowledge of software systems such as Fusion and WhenToWork, or similar, is preferred.

Eagerness to support and engage with all departmental and Student Affairs initiatives and efforts, including collaborations with campus partners to create meaningful student experiences. Ability to take initiative and have theflexibility to adapt to shifting workload demands. Ability to foster a positive climate among a diverse group of staff, student employees, and participants. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.

Campus Recreation is a department within the Division of Student Affairs that provides recreation and well-being programs to the campus community through theoperation and administration of the following: Intramural Building, McCoy Natatorium, Stone Valley Recreation Area, Tennis Center, White Building, Hepper Fitness Center, Aquatics, Club Sports, Fitness and Wellbeing, Intramural Sports, and Outdoor Adventures. Campus Recreation is comprised of 46 full-time staff and more than 700 student staff members. The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:
$46,400.00 - $67,300.00
