Position Summary

We are currently recruiting a Senior Biostatistician to serve as a leading subject matter expert in statistical guidance and support to researchers, faculty, and students engaged in research studies across the College of Nursing. Consults with primary investigators on current and proposed projects to formalize analysis plans and reporting specifications and provides high complexity statistical support and clinical trial statistical analyses and sample size justification assessments. Leads the design, development, and reporting of research studies and clinical trials. Represents Biostatistics on clinical and pre-clinical project teams as required, and provides leadership to staff. Develops responses to a broad range of complex statistical issues arising in a variety of clinical and health science research settings. Supervises statistical support/data entry personnel, as appropriate to the objectives of the position and the nature of the project.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducts descriptive and inferential statistics, including advanced statistical modeling in collaboration with other researchers
  • Analyzes, visualizes, and presents data
  • Ability to write and provide guidance on data protocols, technical manuals, annotated syntax and data dictionaries for the reproducibility of research
  • Contributes to the writing and analysis for peer-reviewed articles, grants, white papers, and conference presentations
  • Contributes to PhD students grant submissions and dissertation analysis including serving on dissertation committees.
  • Contributes to post-doctoral fellows design and analytic aspects of nursing research through grant review committees
  • Participates with faculty investigators on committees to review concepts, proposals and to continually improve research implementation and outcomes

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.



Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical, biological, or health research
  • Demonstrated experience in SAS and R
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience supporting investigators in a consultation setting
  • Experience in conducting advanced statistical analyses such as survival analysis, longitudinal data, missing data, large data sets.
  • Experience in peer-reviewed publication
